Bandipur Wildlife Safaris, Karnataka
Classic South Indian safari country — teak forests, dawn jeep drives and lodges on the edge of the wild.
Cross the ghats from Kerala and the landscape opens into Bandipur’s dry teak forests — one of South India’s best-known reserves and the heart of our Karnataka wildlife extensions.
Safaris run by jeep at dawn and late afternoon with trained naturalists. The reserve is home to elephants, deer, langurs, rich birdlife and — for the fortunate — leopards and tigers. Sightings are never guaranteed; the forest itself never disappoints.
Signature moments
- Dawn jeep safaris with experienced naturalists
- Evenings at a wildlife lodge as the forest sounds change
- An optional onward chapter to Kabini’s riverside lodges
- A scenic return over the ghats to Kerala
Bandipur Wildlife Safaris, Karnataka – Good to know
Will we see a tiger in Bandipur?
Bandipur is famous tiger country, but sightings are a matter of patience and luck — no honest operator guarantees them. Elephants, deer and birdlife are seen far more reliably.
How does Bandipur fit into a Kerala journey?
It is our classic Karnataka extension: two to three nights added after Kerala, crossing the ghats by private car. Many guests pair it with Kabini.
What is a safari day like?
Days bracket the heat: a jeep drive at first light, a restful middle of the day at the lodge, then a second drive as the forest wakes in late afternoon.
